1) BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT- RSVP BY TONIGHT
Back to school night is on September 16th. We will have a general session in the gym, at 5:30pm, followed by a small meal and then classroom sessions. All children are invited, and our Education Assistants will be providing supervision at the playground during the 5:30pm general session. We need to know how many families will be having hot dogs, and ask that you please complete this form : TODAY IS THE DEADLINE
RSVP FORM

2)
CROSSWALK/ PICK-UP PROCEDURES
PLEASE use the crosswalk before and after school. Many families have needed reminders despite the emails sent home. The other option is to walk along the back where the basketball courts are.
Please be reminded that there is to be no stopping and letting children hop into cars. This is unsafe and slows down traffic. Please park and pick up your child, or if your child has permission to wait at the parish center, they can come to your parked car. We will continue to do our best to remind families who are not following the proper procedures, and ask that you please be supportive and accommodating to staff and parent volunteers.

3)
SPIRIT WEAR DAY
As this is the first Monday in September it is Spirit Wear Day. We do this every first Monday of the month. Students are invited to wear their Spirit Wear on top, regular uniform bottoms and shoes. This is not a full dress down day. New families, please note that Spirit Wear order forms will be available Sept 8th with orders due in by Sept 19th. We will have it out to the students for Oct 6th. If students don’t have Spirit Wear they can wear school colours on top- Red, White or Navy Blue.

4) ATHLETICS UPDATE
We have an exciting Fall athletics calendar to look forward to this year.  Grades 2-7 may participate in Cross country and on Sept 18th we will host a fun run style meet on our own school grounds with St. Bernadette and St. Matthew Elementary.  Soccer is very popular once again so we will be supporting 3 boys teams (gr 5 and two grade 6/7 teams).  Soccer requires cleats, shinpads and black soccer socks.  A big thanks to all staff and parent coaches involved in these opportunities.  Both Cross Country and Soccer begin practices NEXT WEEK.

Volleyball is available to girls in grades 5/6/7.  Volleyball practices will begin the week of Sept 15th Volleyball requires runners and volleyball knee pads.  Thanks to the coaches for their planning and training of our teams this season.

All practices can be found on the posted permission slips and Fall Athletics Schedule.  Look at the School Website under the athletics page.
