Important Information

WALKATHON
Week 1 Total Slips are due. We will be collecting all the total slips for week one, so please be sure to send it to school with your child(ren.) We are still in need of prizes- small or big prizes are appreciated! A big thank you to the very generous donations that have already been made!

UNIFORMS
Boys will be permitted to wear their shorts until October 9. After the Thanksgiving weekend, boys will be required to wear long pants. A reminder that only Cambridge Uniform pieces are now permitted. We will be reaching out to parents if we notice that your child(ren) is not wearing proper uniform pieces.

ORANGE SHIRT DAY
September 29 is Orange Shirt Day. Students are invited to wear orange shirts in recognition of Truth and Reconciliation Day. Please note that this is NOT a full dress down day. Uniform bottoms and shoes are required. We will be having Hoop dancing and Powwow workshops all day for our students. Our presenters will be doing a performance at the end of the day (2:10ish) for the school community- parents are invited to come and watch.

STUDENT HEALTH
Many families do not have private dental insurance but may qualify for one of the following programs:

Healthy Kids Program– Children under 19 years of age may be eligible for basic dental services.
Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) – Families who do not have access to private dental insurance may be eligible for dental coverage.
UBC Dentistry– Offers a free dental program for children 12 years of age and younger. Please see the attached application form for more information.

LUNCHTIME GOLF CLUB WITH FR. RICH
This Friday is the first of our Golf Clinics with Fr. Rich! All registered Gr. 3 and 4 students who have paid will be invited to join at lunchtime. Please refer to last week’s Friday Feed for registration link.

PARENT PARTICIPATION UPDATE
As part of the Parent Participation Program. Your participation helps keep school costs down while also building a strong, connected community for our children.

The 40-hour requirement includes:

At least 6 hours of school maintenance, which may include participating in Worker Bees, held on the first Saturday of each month
NEW THIS YEAR: At least 2 hours of fundraising, which may include helping with movie nights, Neufeld Farms fundraisers, or other wonderful fundraising opportunities for our kids.
