Important Information for the Week:
We had a great first week back to school! Thank you to all parents and students for following routines and protocols as we start off the new school year.
A reminder that our Curriculum Night will be virtual. An opening session with myself and members of the PEC will take place from 5:30pm- 6:00pm, followed by sessions with the teachers. All the information can be found on the email that was sent home on Wednesday as well as on the school website. Parents are strongly encouraged to take part so that you are up to date with important information for the coming school year.
If you are attending any of the three masses this weekend, please encourage your children to wear their uniform to mass to proudly show off our school spirit. Our school will be hosting the after-mass socials this weekend.
Outstanding medical forms are due ASAP for any students that have a medical alert.
Communication Survey: We have opened up the survey again to get your feedback on communication between school and home. Although we make every effort to communicate effectively with parents, there is always room for improvement and suggestions are welcome! Please take a moment to complete this survey:
Umbrellas: As we approach the wet weather, just a reminder that students are asked to refrain from bringing umbrellas to school. There are many issues that arise with numerous umbrellas at school:
Safety when students are opening umbrellas around other students
Water puddles in the hallways and classrooms/ cloakrooms that are a big slipping hazard
There is no place to store umbrellas in the cloakrooms, so they end up lying on the floor and becoming a tripping hazard.
In speaking with school staff, these issues have come up every year and numerous injuries happened. We would like to avoid this from happening and as such are asking for yoru support. Rain jackets with hoods are the best option for school. If it is raining hard, students will not be expected to be outside. Any students that are walking to or from school may have a small umbrella that fits into their backpack for this purpose. They are asked to wait until they are no longer around other students before opening them.
