Important Information
WINTER UNIFORM
Shorts season has come to an end! Boys are asked to please wear their long uniform pants until we go back to our summer uniform in May. A reminder that only Top Marks (for this year only) or Cambridge pants are acceptable.
WALKATHON 2025
Please remember to send your child to school with their weekly total slip. All students who bring in their slips will be entered into a mini prize draw at the end of the day. PLEASE DO NOT SEND MONEY TO SCHOOL. Thank you for your continued support as we work towards meeting our goal!! If you have any prizes for donation, please drop off at the school office.
NUTRITION WORKSHOPS
We will be having nutrition workshops for all grades this week, led by a nutritionist. She will be talking about healthy eating and will be bringing some snacks for the student to try. The snacks being brought are a rainbow of carrots, cukes, peppers, cabbage and apples. Also whole wheat bread from Cobs. Please let you child(ren)’s teacher know if they cannot eat this snacks.
IMPORTANT- PRIMARY GRADE PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
We will be making a change to this year’s Primary grade conferences in November. After much discussion and looking at how other schools are running these, we have decided that primary grade conferences (K-Gr. 3) will be a Parent-Teacher conference NOT a 3 Way conference as in past years. Intermediate grade conferences will remain 3 Way Conferences. Our reasons for this change are as follows:
- Most primary children shut down in these meetings - they are nervous and don’t engage the way they do at home or at school. Most parents often say they are surprised by how shy/quiet they are
- If teachers have concerns about how the child is doing and want to discuss it while showing work samples, it is an awkward and uncomfortable conversation to be having in front of your child.
- Our primary students don’t remember goals that they are working on and need a lot of prompting from teachers
- It is a good opportunity for teachers to meet with parents who don’t always come to pick up/drop off
- In past years, the feedback is that this conference tends to be a teacher-led meeting as opposed to a conference - teachers are doing a lot of prompting and not as much discussion happens

Please check your OnVolunteers account to track your completed hours. Remember, it is your responsibility to submit any ad hoc tasks within one month of completion in order for them to be approved.
The program requirement is 34 regular hours and 6 maintenance hours for a total of 40 hours. The deadline for completion is May 31, 2026.
Non-completion rates are $30 per missing regular hour and $60 per missing maintenance hour. No-show fees will also apply—please be considerate and show up for the tasks you’ve committed to.
