Mr. Heah's Newsletter- July 6th, 2020

Dear CCS Parents,

I wanted to take this opportunity to officially say hello and introduce myself to you as the new principal at Cloverdale Catholic School. Hopefully you had a chance to see my video message to families at our virtual AGM. I am very excited to be starting my new position here and hope to have the opportunity to meet all of you when the time is right and life returns to normal! As a parishioner at Precious Blood Parish and a parent of two children at Cloverdale Catholic, it is exciting to join the community in a new capacity. Please know that my door is always open (a virtual door for now), so if you would like to connect about anything at all, please feel free to contact me! I would like to draw your attention to a few items:

Contacting me
I will be here until this coming Friday, and will then be on a summer break until August 24th. If you need to contact me for anything, the best way to do so is to email me at cheah@cisva.bc.ca or call me at the school. My preference is always to speak in person if there are any issues or concerns. I will respond to emails within one work day. Please note that the school office will reopen on August 24th. I will not be responding to emails during the summer break. 

What will September look like?
I am sure that many of you are wondering what school will look like in September. Although we would all love to see a normal return to school, we must be prepared that this may not be the case. We have been informed that the Ministry of Education will be making a decision around August 20th, at which point, I will share this out with our school community. Thank you in advance for your patience with this!

Uniforms
Please be reminded that all students must be in proper and acceptable school uniform for September. The only acceptable uniform pieces are those purchased from our uniform supplier Top Marks. Top Marks will be extending free shipping until July 15th, so please take advantage of this! For your reference, I am attaching the CCS Uniform Policy. Please ensure that you have read over it and are familiar with it.

I am attaching a DRAFT Year at a Glance for the coming school year. Please note that due to the current situation, some of the events may or may not happen, and dates are subject to change. My hope is that it will be of use to you to have this Year at a Glance to refer to, as you prepare your calendars for the coming school year.
