Important Information
1) MISSIONS WEEK THANK YOU
Thank you to all families that supported our Missions Week by either purchasing books or freezies. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to raise over $600 for Burkina Fasso!
2) UNITED DAYS 2024/2025
We are so grateful to all of our families for all of your generous donations over the course of this past school year. Our Untied Day donations totalled over $5000 that we were able to give to various charities. It is so fulfilling to see that the accumulation of small monthly donations can support so many organizations help those in need. Tha thank you cards we receive throughout the year reflect the gratitude from these organizations.
3) PEC UPDATE
A warm welcome to Rebecca King and Kat Meade who have joined our PEC for a two year term. Our gratitude goes to Luisa Cenedese and Kate Paez for their service to our PEC. Their contributions have been invaluable to our school and parish community.
4) HIRING UPDATE
We are pleased to announce that we have hired two new EA’s for next year.
- Nicole Heinrich (Sheardown as of August) comes to us from OLPH school where she served as an EA for 7 years. She brings a varied experience, having worked in all grade levels with a variety of different needs.
- Ana Sanchez is fairly new to Canada, having spent a number of years as an EA and educator in Spain, working with a wide variety of needs and ages. Most recently she has worked here in Canada as a preschool EA, supporting students with needs. She has just completed here diploma in Special Needs from Douglas College.
We welcome both of our new EAs to CCS!
5) FUN DAY!
Fun Day is next Friday! The theme is Tacky Tourist- students have been grouped into colour groups and are invited to come dressed as tacky tourists in their colours. Your child(ren)’s teacher will email you what colour group your child(ren) is. Students will receive a freezie (WATER, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, CONTAINS 2% OR LESS OF THE FOLLOWING: NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS, CITRIC ACID, SUCRALOSE, ACESULFAME POTASSIUM, SODIUM BENZOATE AND POTASSIUM SORBATE (PRESERVATIVES), YELLOW 5, YELLOW 6, RED 40, BLUE 1.), bag of chips (LAYS AND MS VICKIE’S) and a juice box as a snack. Please be reminded that it is a NOON DISMISSAL.
6) HMIG KABATAAN CULTURAL SOCIETY CHORAL WORKSHOP
Young Singers are Invited to Join the HMIG KABATAAN Cultural Society Choral Workshop!
The talented and well-loved HMIG KABATAAN Cultural Society (HKCS) Choir, under the direction of Bea Correa, is inviting young singers in Grades 1 to 7 to a fun and inspiring Choral Workshop!
Students will take part in engaging activities that explore vocal technique, breath control, and a variety of songs in a joyful, supportive environment.
🕓 Parents are invited to a short sharing/performance at 4:30 PM, where participants will showcase what they’ve learned—alongside members of HKCS!
📅 Date: Friday, June 20, 2025 📍 Location: Cloverdale Catholic School (CCS) Music Room (Portable) 🕑 Time: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM 💵 Cost: $10 (Payable on the day of the workshop)

7) CRUSADER BASKETBALL CLUB SUMMER SKILLS CAMP

8) PARENT PARTICIPATION:
Parent Participation Program 2025/2026 – Now Underway
A reminder to all families that the Parent Participation Program for the 2025/2026 school year is now in progress. Each family is required to complete 40 volunteer hours, including 6 maintenance hours. We encourage everyone to get an early start before the summer break.
Volunteer Shift Reminders
If you are unable to attend a scheduled shift:
With more than 24 hours’ notice, please remove yourself from the task so it can be reposted.
With less than 24 hours’ notice, email the Parent Participation Coordinator directly.
Unreported absences will result in a $25 no-show fee. After three no-shows, families will be removed from the program and must pay out their remaining hours at a rate of $30 per regular hour and $60 per maintenance hour.
Ad Hoc Hours
Ad hoc hours include tasks not signed up for on the volunteer website or tasks that took longer than scheduled. These must be submitted within one month of completion for approval. Late submissions will be considered at the coordinator’s discretion.
