Important Information

1) UNITED DAY:
Next week is United Day and the theme is Career Day! Students are invited to come to school dressed in a career that they are interested in becoming. Please ensure no weapons or pretend weapons are brought (ie guns for policeman…) All proceeds will go towards our annual Chalice sponsor child. We have a new sponsor child this year, as our previous one has aged out. Our new child’s name is Beimar and he is from Bolivia. Beimar lives with his younger sister, mother and grandmother in one room. His mother is 35 years old and has severe arthritis, leaving her crippled and unable to do anything. They make a little bit of money from his mother selling candies at school to the children. His grandmother is also unwell, which leaves Beimar to oversee most of the responsibility of looking after his family. Our annual sponsorship is $500, and we are hoping to raise enough to cover the cost of his sponsorship. This is the one and only united day set aside for our sponsor child, so please consider a donation. As always, an extra $1 gets your child(ren) a bag of popcorn. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

2) RE-REGISTRATION FOR CURRENT FAMILIES- Nov. 30- Dec. 16
We will be opening re-registration on November 30th and closing it on December 16. Please ensure that you have completed your re-registration by December 16 to avoid a late fee. This year, we will be trialing an online registration to make things easier for you and for management on our end.

3) CHRISTMAS CONCERT SPONSORSHIPS
Thank you to all of our sponsors so far! Please email Mrs. Hosein or Mr. Heah if you would like to be a sponsor. Highlight your business while helping us cover the costs to put on our production!

4) ST. VINCENT DE PAUL DRIVE
A reminder that we will start collecting items next week for the St. Vincent de Paul Christmas drive. See email sent this week with most in need items. Gift Cards are also welcome. All donations go to the less fortunate in our community.

5) USED UNIFORMS:
There will be a used uniform sale from 5:30pm- 6:30pm at the next Movie Night. Please bring any used uniforms (gently used in good condition) to school next week. This wil be the last sale of Top Mark uniforms- moving forward only Cambridge Uniforms pieces will be taken and sold.

6) PARENT PARTICIPATION UPDATE
Families, check your Onvolunteer accounts to track how many hours you have completed. You should be at the half way mark!  Please remember it is your responsibility to submit any ad hoc tasks within one month in order for it to be approved.  Anything submitted past a month, and approval is at the discretion of the coordinator.

FROM THE PARISH

  • Come join the Cloverdale Knights!

    Nov 27th at 7pm

Our council of men here at Cloverdale is numbered council 7276. We meet monthly on 2nd Wednesdays at 7pm. The initiation day is the necessary step to become a full Knight of Columbus member. As you’ll see, if you click the link below, we were founded by a Catholic priest who wanted to take care of organs and widows, a noble cause indeed, back in the 1800s. Also, we are all over the world with over 2.1 million members.

It’s easiest if you want to join to connect with me.

    Requirements;

    -18+ years old

    -practicing Catholic

If you join on the above day, you will join our email list, you can attend our meetings (second Wednesdays each month) and discover what we plan to do around the parish and our community in the spirit of Charity.

We have annual dues of $35 (but that should not be a deterrent for any man of Charity).

You will receive a monthly magazine highlighting the brotherhood.  I like to show this to my family. See picture below.

Benefits could include free access to our parish centre for events like sports, community dinners, charity uses etc.

Most importantly, you become known and supported by Catholic men of God.

  • Dear Youth Ministry Members,

We are excited to invite you to another youth event centered on the call to discipleship on Saturday, November 23, at 2:30 PM in the Columbus Room of the Parish Center.

Our theme for the day is:

"Blessed Are the Meek, for They Shall Inherit the Earth" (Matthew 5:5)

This event is designed to inspire and empower you to live out the message of this powerful Beatitude in your daily life. The afternoon will be filled with meaningful moments and activities, including:

    • Praise and Worship to lift your spirit.

    • An Engaging Talk to explore the strength and blessing of meekness.

    • Interactive Group Discussions where you can share and connect with others.

    • Fun Games to build friendships and enjoy the day together.

This is a wonderful opportunity to deepen your faith, meet new friends, and reflect on how we can live humbly and joyfully in today’s world.

We hope you will join us for this inspiring and uplifting afternoon. Feel free to bring along a friend or two—they are most welcome!
