WELCOME BACK COFFEE MORNING!
Welcome back, CCS!

The Welcoming Committee is excited to kick off the new school year with complimentary coffee and tea for our CCS parents on the first day of school!

📅 First Day of School September 8th
⏰ 8:30–9:00 AM
📍 Look for our table either by the drop-off line or by the parish

This is a casual drop-in, grab a cup of coffee or tea on your way to your child’s lineup/after dropping them off, or stick around for a few minutes and enjoy a chat with other CCS parents. This little tradition is all about building community, connecting with one another, and helping everyone feel welcome as we start another school year together.

We can’t wait to see you and welcome everyone back!

Warmly,

The CCS Welcoming Committee

STUDENT VERIFICATION FORMS
Your child(ren) will be bringing home the Student Verification Form on Tuesday. Please read over to ensure that all the information is correct and return to school no later than Thursday, September 10th.

STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT
Please find below a poster of our Student Code of Conduct. We will be reviewing it with all students at our assembly on Tuesday. It would be helpful to also review it at home as a family so that your child(ren) see that school and home support each other.

WELCOME BACK BARBECUE- Today is last day to RSVP!
Our Welcome Back Barbecue is on Thursday September 10th, starting at 5:30pm. This year’s format will be different from previous years as we try and make this more of a community event. If you have RSVP’d, you will receive a dinner that will be enjoyed. Families can mingle and socialize, and then starting at 6:00pm, the school will be open for families to walk through and meet the teachers. There will not be any formal presentations, but teachers will be in their classrooms to answer questions, meet with families, and hand out important information. Please feel free to visit and say hi to all the teachers! Once you have had a chance to eat and visit, you can continue to socialize or head home. The structure of the evening is very flexible. There will be a used uniform table, an On Volunteers support table, and for Gr. 6 and 7 parents, Matterhorn Music will be here for instrument rentals. Please ensure that you RSVP no later than Friday, September 4th. RSVP FORM

ON VOLUNTEERS JOBS POSTED
All school supervision tasks for September & October have now been posted on OnVolunteers. Due to a glitch with the new system, notifications are not being sent out when tasks are posted. Please note that some tasks require a valid Criminal Record Check in order to view and sign up for shifts. Also, if you are signing up for Morning or Lunch Recess Playground Supervision, please review the updated guidelines for these tasks posted on the task page.  Finally, there are still spaces remaining for our September 5 Work Bee. As the tasks in the 'People Needed' box are not showing up chronologically, you may need to move to the end of the list on the second page to see it. If you are having trouble logging in to the new portal, please contact onvolunteers@cloverdalecatholicschool.ca for assistance.

PARENT PARTICIPATION UPDATE
Dear Families,

Welcome back to another great year at CCS!

As part of the Parent Participation Program, each family is required to complete 40 volunteer hours during the school year. Your participation helps keep school costs down while building a strong and connected community for our children.

The 40-hour requirement includes:

  • At least 6 hours of school maintenance, which may include participating in Worker Bees, held on the first Saturday of each month, (including September 5th) or completing other maintenance tasks around the school.

  • ***NEW THIS YEAR***At least 2 hours of fundraising, which may include helping with movie nights, Neufeld Farms fundraisers, or other amazing fundraising opportunities for our kids.

You should have received login information for our new parent participation portal in June. Please use this portal to view and sign up for available tasks throughout the year.

We look forward to working together to make this a wonderful year for our children. If you have any questions, please contact us at parentparticipation@cloverdalecatholicschool.ca.
