Important Information

  • Report Cards - please remember to send back the envelope and sign off page if you have not yet done so

  • Bob Watts- Our Student Leadership Team had the pleasure of interviewing Mr. Greg Daniels this week, co-creator and writer of The Office, The Simpsons, Saturday Night Live and other shows. On Monday, we will be interviewing Mr. Bob Watts, former Deputy Minister and director of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. We look forward to providing our students with a great opportunity to learn more about Truth and Reconciliation.

  • Lost and Found-  We will be donating anything left in the lost and found on Friday, March 11th  before we go on Spring Break. If you see anything in the attached photo that belongs to your child, please ask them to pick it up from the table under the student showcase in the hallway.

  • Spirit Wear Day- A reminder that students are invited to wear Spirit Wear, and if they don’t own this, then school colours on top are welcome (red, black, white, blue). Uniform bottoms and shoes please.

  • United Day- Dress in St. Patrick’s colours or outfits! We will be collecting for Canadian Red Cross Ukraine relief. We will also be starting popcorn day again as restrictions have lifted. Being an extra $1 for a bag of popcorn (limit of one bag per student)

  • Medical Appointments/ Early Pick up- Please ensure that you have communicated with the classroom teacher and the office if you need to pick up your child early of an appointment or any other reason. Picking up your child early without our prior knowledge makes it very difficult to get them organized in a timely manner. We understand that there may be emergencies that happen, and this is understandable.

  • Travel Restrictions update- Please see updated information regarding travel restriction for international travel

  • February Slideshow (password in email)

  • Parent Participation Update:

Please remember all ad hoc (unscheduled) tasks must be entered into OnVolunteers within one month of completing the task or they will not be counted.

Parent Participation Opportunity - VBS Coordinator

The Parish is looking for one or two individuals to coordinate our Vacation Bible School (VBS) children’s program this summer.

This is a very rewarding task, as VBS really brings the community of Precious Blood together, and is a lot of fun for the participants and volunteers. However, it is also a big responsibility, so please consider whether you will have enough time this Spring & Summer to dedicate to planning the program. This task typically fulfils most if not all of your Parent Participation hours. Hours done before May 31 will count toward this school year, and hours done after June 1 will count toward next school year.

Please consider signing up for this important role. Previous coordinators are available to answer questions as you go along. It would be wonderful for our community to be able to have this to look forward to; but in order to make this happen, planning needs to begin right away. Please see OnVolunteers for more details of what this position entails, and to register.

  • A reminder that our next work-bee is tomorrow, Saturday, March 5th from 9am to 12pm. There are still a few spots left - register through OnVolunteers. This month we will focus on clearing the brambles and general property maintenance. We will also open up the school to a limited number of parents to help inside (with restrictions: no children allowed inside, all participants must be masked). As always, please bring anything you think would be useful (rakes, gardening gloves, wheelbarrows, etc). This month we recommend wearing work clothes and bringing work gloves that can handle brambles.

If you are registered and unable to attend, please unregister to open up a spot for other families. If you do not unregister, it will be counted as a no-show. After 3 no-shows, your family will be required to opt out of the program and pay the non-completion fee for all your remaining hours (As per the CCS Parent Participation Policy Manual).
If you have any questions about the workbee, please email Jennifer at maintenance@cloverdalecatholicschool.ca
