Remind Alert System

Dear Parents/ Gaurdians,

It was apparent this morning that many parents have not yet signed up for the REMIND alert system. It is important for you to sign up for this, so that in case of an emergency or last minute school closure, you get alerted.

I apologize for the confusion this morning. Past experience has told me that when power goes out, it usually doesn’t come on for a while, which is why school was cancelled when power had not come on yet at 7:30am. I appreciate that many of you had to scramble to find childcare and then felt frustrated when the second message came that school was on after all. We did not feel that it was fair to keep school closed with power back on, and wanted to ensure that students could come to school. I have been informed that power outages at CCS don’t generally last long, so my messaging next time will be different. Again, my apologies for this.
