Volunteer Hours – Frequently Asked Questions

Why did I receive an email about a volunteer opportunity, but I don’t see it on the website?
Volunteer opportunities are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If you receive an email notification but no longer see the post when you log in, it means the opportunity has already been picked up by another volunteer.

How do I check my volunteer hours?
Please log in to your OnVolunteers account to review your completed volunteer hours.

What are the volunteer hour requirements?
Families are asked to complete a total of 40 volunteer hours, which includes:
• 34 regular hours
• 6 maintenance hours

When is the deadline to complete volunteer hours?
All volunteer hours must be completed by May 31, 2026.  No exceptions

What should I know about ad hoc volunteer tasks?
Ad hoc tasks must be submitted within one month of when they are completed.

What if my hours are submitted late?
Late submissions may be approved at the discretion of the Volunteer Coordinator.

What if I can’t attend a scheduled volunteer shift?
If you’re unable to attend a scheduled shift, please email Parent Participation in advance to help avoid a no-show fee.

What happens if volunteer requirements aren’t completed?
The following fees apply for incomplete commitments:
• $30 per missing regular hour
• $60 per missing maintenance hour
• $25 no-show fee per missed shift
