Kids for Christ Cancelled and Thoughts on School Closure
Parents of Cloverdale Catholic School,
Last night I shovelled my wife's grandparents' driveway at 11:30pm. I picked up my son at work at midnight, driving the icy streets of Surrey and North Delta. I was up throughout the night and early morning looking out my window as the snow fell. By 5:30am, I was on the phone with multiple other school Principals, our PEC Chairperson, and Father Paul trying to decide the best course of action. In the end, we decided to stay open.
I am grateful for the responsible decision making in our community. Many did the right thing and chose to stay home. Others did the right thing and made their way to school. The decision to stay open was the right one and individual decisions to come to school or not varied depending on people's own personal circumstances. Thank you for your support of the school's decision on these very tricky days. Please be prepared for more days like this in the week to come. Check the school website for a decision by 7am at the latest. Once the decision is made, you can count on it being well-considered and fully committed to.
Out of an abundance of caution, Kids for Christ will be cancelled today. Please pick up your children at 3pm.
Sincerely,
Mr. Jason Borkowski
Principal
