Important Update to COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidelines for Schools/ Valentine’s Day

Dear Parents,

There are two important items that require your attention that I didn’t want lost in my Friday memo:

1) Please find here the new updates to the COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidelines for schools. These were announced this morning at 10:00am. I tried to get the main points on paper so that you are aware of changes that will be made moving forward. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

2) Valentine’s Day- I have had many questions about Valentine’s day treats and cards coming to school. A reminder that there are to be absolutely no food treats coming to school. These will be sent home again if any are brought. Cards are permitted, provided that they are brought to school on Monday so that they can sit for two days before they get handed out. Although there are no studies to indicate transfer of COVID on paper products, we still want to ensure that they remain untouched at school for 2 days before coming into your home. Any cards that come on Tuesday or Wednesday won’t be handed out until the following week. Please remember that if you bring a card, there should be one for every student. We don’t want any of our students to feel left out and excluded.
