COVID-19 Virus Update
Parents and Friends of Cloverdale Catholic School,
As the COVID-19 virus continues to make news around the world, local schools are being kept informed by the Ministry of Education on ways to keep our children safe. The suggestions they provide are the same as any other flu; disinfect high touch surfaces, frequent hand-washing, educating staff and students on respiratory etiquette, keeping sick students home from school, and being alert to unusual or extended absenteeism. We are going to follow these steps and be diligent to this potential threat, but we also have to be mindful of the psychological impact of over-reacting to such a threat in front of the children. We have to find the balance that protects them best both physically and emotionally.
Please continue to do your part by reminding your children to cover their mouths with their sleeves when sneezing and coughing, washing hands frequently, and by keeping sick children at home. If you are traveling overseas this Spring Break, it may be necessary to stay away from school for a period of time upon your return. If this is the case for you, please advise me of your travel plans so we can discuss possible solutions.
Sincerely,
Mr. Jason Borkowski
