CISVA Temporary Transition Plan Survey
Dear Parents,
Thank you so much for your ongoing patience and understanding in this ever changing landscape! Changes to the school restart plan are happening daily, and it is my intention to keep you up to date with all of the changes in the most timely manner possible. Thank you to all of you who have been emailing me with questions about the restart plan, and for your patience as I try to respond to each email.
Yesterday morning, CISVA made the decision to offer a Temporary Transition Plan to families. This plan enables parents who are not yet comfortable sending their child(ren) to school to start a transition plan on September 21, 2020 (students on this plan will not be starting their schooling until September 21) with re-entry dates:
Tuesday, October 13, 2020, with one week notice required by October 6.
OR
Monday, November 16, 2020, with one week notice required by November 9.
Students who choose this option will receive an at-home learning package with limited (approximately 1 hour per week) grade-level support from a teacher. It is important to note that this support will not be the same support which was offered following spring break, as school and staff are teaching full time in their classrooms.
Attached you will find the information that outlines this plan, along with a survey that must be filled out no later than 3:00pm Thursday, September 3rd, for those families choosing this option.
What is the difference between Distributed Learning, Homeschooling, and Temporary Transition?
Parent Survey - Due no later than 3:00pm Thursday, September 3, 2020
We are making changes daily here at CCS to keep up with the changes that are happening around us. I understand that you may have many questions around the Temporary Transition Plan, and ask for your patience with my responses. The structure of the Temporary Transition Plan (including start and return dates, what support will look like,) … is determined by the CISVA Superintendent’s Office, in an attempt to ensure that all of our schools are offering the same plan to families. As the information comes to us, I promise to provide you with updates. My hope is that we will be able to finalize all of the options this week so that you can make an informed decision as to what restart option works best for you and your child(ren). I appreciate your ongoing patience and understanding during this time.
Please continue to pray for us, as we pray for all of you during this time!
God bless,
C. Heah
