Welcome to Grade One/Two!

I am so thrilled to be teaching your children this year! My favourite grade to teach (of the grades I’ve taught before) is Grade One (for the age of the children) and Grade Two in preparing the children to receive their First Holy Communion, so this is honestly a dream come true!

Thank you for all that you do and will continue to do at home, especially for your love for them. You are the “domestic Church” and the primary educators of your children and I consider it a tremendous grace and joyful privilege to have some part in guiding your child intellectually, spiritually, and personally this year. I pray that the lessons they learn here at Cloverdale in general, and in this classroom in particular, will stay with them throughout their lives.

In addition to the children’s homework folders and planners which will be sent home each night, you will also want to keep current with postings on various important class information portals. On this class page, you will find links to Class Dojo and Fresh Grade as our means for class communication. You will also see links to documents that you have already received a paper copy of that you may easily reference in the future such as Parent packet, Homework sheet, Spelling lists. Class Schedule, book log sheet, writing journal prompt sheet and others.

It is not by accident that your child is in this school at this time with this teacher and these classmates. God knows precisely what He is doing and I know He has much in store for us this year. Let us walk together, with our hands in His, trusting the path down which He leads us. Thank you for entrusting your child to me and to our school staff. I consider this a tremendous honour, humbling privilege, and absolute joy. It has been and will continue to be a very, very good year. You have my prayers for you, your precious children, and your intentions.

For any of you interested in learning more about the Catholic faith, please contact me! I’d love to support you in this journey… whether you are already Catholic and just want to know more or if you were not raised in the Catholic faith but are searching for meaning and answers. As someone who did not grow up in a Catholic family, I won’t be surprised at anything you don’t know, because I’ve been there! Preaching the Gospel and evangelizing the world is why I joined the Order of Preachers! Let me share what I’ve and studied learned with you so that you can share with those you know and love!
