Important Information

  • School tax receipts
If you have not picked up your tax receipt from the school office, and your child did not hand you an envelope yesterday, please check their backpack this weekend. If you did not find an envelope with your tax receipt, email the school office.

  • Catholic Schools Week
Next week we celebrate Catholic Schools Week in our archdiocese. Students will take part in activities with their teachers, and we will also celebrate our wonderful school as a community. I have a small treat for all the students. Photo with ingredients attached to this Feed.

  • Spirit Wear
As you are aware, the fundraising group has been working hard to promote our Spirit Wear to give our students and families a chance to showcase our awesome school and build school spirit. At our last PEC meeting this week, we decided that we will dedicate the first Monday of the month as a Spirit Wear Day. This will eb a day where students who have purchased spirit wear will be allowed to wear it to school. Please note that it is still uniform bottoms, but hoodies and t-shirts are allowed on top. We certainly don’t want to exclude any students, as not everyone has the means to purchase Spirit Wear. Any students who don’t own Spirit Wear are allowed to wear red, blue or white tops with their uniform bottoms.

  • “Two’s Day”: On February 22, it will be the 2nd day of the 2nd day of the week, of the 2nd month, of the year 2022, we we are celebrating! Students and are invited to dress down with a “2”s theme- it is open ended and we are looking for creative ways that students come up with! For example, come dressed with #2s all over you, find a friend who you can twin with, you get the idea! We are asking for Donations of Twoonies to help pay for our Chalice sponsor child’s annual sponsorship cost. Thank you for your generosity!

  • “Kindness Day” is on February 23. National Pink Shirt Day is celebrated around the country on this day. The intent behind this movement is to stand up to bullying. While we certainly agree with the need to stand up to bullying, we also recognize that this should not only be specific to one day in the year. We work with our students everyday to teach them kindness, empathy, cooperation… and as such we are calling this day Kindness day.” Students are invited to wear their pink shirts or any bright top with their uniform bottoms. No collection this day.

  • Métis dance event- Please see the attached poster for an upcoming cultural opportunity to learn more about Métis dance called" “Jigging.” One of our students in Grade 2 would love to share some of her Métis heritage with our CCS school community.

  • Parent Participation Update: We are now more than half-way through the year. Please check to make sure your family is on track to complete your Parent Participation hours, and that you have entered all unscheduled tasks you have done into OnVolunteers. Here are a few of the available tasks right now:

*Fundraising class contacts - we still need volunteers for Grade 1, Grade 3, Grade 6/7P, and Grade 7G - this job is mainly emailing, so can be done outside of school hours.

There are still a number of families who have not yet entered any hours into OnVolunteers, or who have only completed a few hours so far. Please be reminded of the non-completion fee of $30/hr and $60/maintenance hour for any hours you are missing by the deadline of May 31. Don't leave it to the last minute to complete your Parent Participation hours!
