Spring Break Principal's Message

Parents and Friends of CCS,

Spring Break is finally here!

I want to take this opportunity to thank all the school families for their continued support and encouragement.  Our school is enjoying a successful year so far, with students learning, playing, and praying with energy and enthusiasm everyday.  I would also like to thank the teachers and staff for their generous contributions to school life.  Without their faithfulness and dedication, none of our daily success would be possible.

This year has presented some new challenges so far, and Spring Break may be the perfect time to address them.  Children, like all of us, have an innate need to be loved and attended to.  I have seen evidence in many of our students an inordinate attachment to peers and digital entertainment.  In my experiences speaking to dozens of students everyday, I see digital media, particularly Social Media platforms in the intermediate grades, filling a space in the hearts and minds of students that should be reserved for family.  I know first hand the challenges of helping kids be self-regulated and limited on their “screen time”.  I also understand the how the busyness of daily life can impede our ability and willingness to take the time necessary to fight that battle.  Regardless of the difficulty, the battle for the minds and hearts of our children must be won at home if it is going to be won at all.  I encourage you to use this Spring Break as an opportunity to take a break not only from school, but from the other routines that separate us from quality time together as families.   Hold your kids close and continue to build family bonds that are stronger than peer or digital attachments.

I love your kids and I love this school.  That said, I am super excited to get away from it all for the next two weeks!  Enjoy your time together as a family.  I look forward to finishing the year strong in when we return in April.

Sincerely,

Mr. Jason Borkowski

Principal
