Grade 4/5 boys basketball tournament at Star of the Sea (leave at 9:00am)

Friday, January 27
9:00am- School Mass
Grade 7 girls basketball tournament at IC Delta schools (leave at 11:ooam)
3:00pm- Grade 7 boys basketball game at St. Catherine’s School (leave at 2:15pm)

Important Information

Our United Day will be dedicated to raising the $400 we need to cover the cost for our Chalice Sponsor child’s annual sponsorship. We are asking for a suggested donation of $2 per student to cover the cost. As always, an extra $1 get a bag of popcorn! The theme is twins day, but we are broadening it to triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets… so that nobody feels left out. Please remember that students are expected to be dressed appropriately and modestly for our United Days (no crop tops, etc.)
Yoyo order forms can be brought to school. Yoyos will be given to students who have handed in their forms. Automatic withdrawal will come out January 27th. We may. not be able to fill all the special requests (colours, …) but we will ensure that your child(ren) gets the right model of yoyo that was paid for.
Robotics Club- After school robotics club will start January 23 and will take place in the music room. Please pick up your child from there. If you are interested and haven’t yet registered, please see the attached poster below.
Parent Participation Update
Share your gifts of time and talent with Precious Blood Parish
Did you know volunteer hours done at the Parish counts towards your Parent Participation Hours? The Parish is looking for the following volunteers;
LECTORS– 2 for the 4:30pm Saturday Mass. The Lector Ministry calls for volunteers to grow in a warm and loving knowledge of Scripture, which is the living Word of God. Lectors proclaim the Word of God at Mass and other liturgical services. They are encouraged to read scripture in a clear and meaningful way so that everyone can hear and understand what is being said. If interested, contact Joann @jbueno@schoolathome.ca
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS—3 for 4:30pm Saturday Mass, 2 for 9am Mass & 1 for 11am on Sundays
The role of an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion is to assist the priest in serving communion during the celebration of Mass. Communion ministers are scheduled to serve communion at a specific mass or service in the church, and do so in a meaningful and efficient manner. They receive training by attending workshops, and through the guidance of Mass Coordinators. Communion is to be distributed reverently while acknowledging the sanctity of the position of extraordinary minister.
To be an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister in Precious Blood, pls email Caroline @pbparish.emhc@gmail.com, who prepares the schedule for EEMs to serve at Mass, as well as for home visits for the sick and shut-ins.
